Windmill “Windotter”

molen.jpg

This is where I buy my flour, yeast and many other ingredients.

This mill was built in 1732 on the foundations of  a wooden windmill. In 1917 the mill was abandoned and became derelict. In 1987 restauration was complete and since then it has been operating, increasingly selling to private persons in stead of companies.

At first the ‘shop’ was located on the ground floor of the windmill, but over a year ago a small annex was built in which the shop is now located. From a customers point of view much more convenient, but personally I miss hearing the unique sounds of the windmill that you could not avoid when you were inside the building.
