Making jam

Yes. In the middle of winter. Though you wouldn’t think it winter: it’s 10 Celcius and today it has never ceased raining.regen.jpg

We were almost out of blackberry jam so I decided to have a look in the freezer to see what could be done about that. I put all frozen treasures together.

  • 870 g blackberries
  • 300 g respberries
  • 200 g frozen strawberry mush

I added

  • 100 g apple (cooking variety)bessen.jpg


  • 1200 gram suger with pectin
  • 100 gram cane sugar

Brought to a boil and simmered for 4 minutes. I’ve now got 6 full jars and one partially filled.

Great. I’ve conquered the winter blues by doing something really summer-like and last summer I could take it easy with the jam making by putting part of the fruit in the freezer.
